Crumb catching bread cutting board

I built a bread cutting board with a crumb catching tray to cut the tasty sourdough bread my wife makes.

My wife makes the best sourdough bread in the world and I wanted to build a cutting board that matches the greatness of the bread.

Bread cutting board — I glued two flat walnut boards together for the bottom and cut a frame in beech for the tray. I routed a groove for the bottom to sit in and mitered the corners.

Bread cutting board — I drilled two holes for the handles and routed the rest out on my home made router table.

Bread cutting board — Had some burning but that cleaned up nicely.

Bread cutting board — Dry fit made me realize I needed to trim the bottom a bit.

Bread cutting board — Using the table saw I made two end pieces with cut-outs where the slats will sit.

Bread cutting board — While the tray was drying (boiled linseed oil) I glued the slats in the end pieces.
